Seven Thorns

Out of the shadow and into the light
I’ve tried to crawl all my life
The shadow surrounds me
I’m lost in the night
Feels like an eternal fight!

Deep in the forest and its might
Alone with myself I try to hide
I want to live my own life
Surrounded by beauty I find rest
Will think for myself
Won’t be oppressed
While trying to find the way to the light!

They will condemn me feel sorry for me
Try to save me for the madness
They tell their stories
What’s right and what’s wrong
But all I can hear is their sadness!

I want to go where no one’s been
I want to feel what no one’s felt
I want to live my own life
Surrounded by beauty I find rest
Will think for myself
Won’t be oppressed
While trying to find the way to the light!

The secret of the divine rests here
Here I will seek the meaning to my life
